Giuseppe Zanotti checks out Glynda Rhodes' shoes.

Italian shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti has reigned supreme in the fashion footwear business for the past 20-years -- and he turned up at his Caesars Palace salon to introduce his 2008-2009 fall and winter collections kindly donating 20 percent of the sales to our Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation.

His stylish stiletto shoes and beautiful boots have been the luxurious red-carpet choice of Hollywood celebrities for ages – and our Vegas valley lovely ladies Glynda Rhodes and Linda Karosas hosted the private reception.

Giuseppe explained for me why his sexy shoes are in such high demand by women worldwide: “They make a woman more like an animal! Yes -- they are very sexual and really the only way to look at shoes is in private upside down with their feet up in the air! Look at the way a woman moves if she is in flats. Then look at the way she walks in heels. Her back is arched she pounces rather than walking lazy and slouched sloppy. In heels she is tall, beautiful and positioned properly. It’s a totally different way to show off her body at its best.” So now we know!

Incidentally, I asked the Italian first friend of femininity when high heels were first created -- and was surprised to learn they were for men! Back in 15th century Italy when the “dolges” -- dukes, popes and princes -- visited Venice the shoemakers were commissioned to build up heels and platforms on their shoes so their cloaks would not get wet in the waters of the canalled city. The ladies immediately copied but with more of a fashion statement- and men decided they were too feminine for them to wear them anymore! Thus a multimillion dollar fashion industry was born -- and its been growing ever since with shoe designers becoming stars in their own right.
