The pop-music world was abuzz late yesterday (Thursday) with promises of a long-awaited Jackson family reunion next year. This morning (Friday) Michael Jackson shot it down.

Said Michael, currently celebrating the 25th anniversary of his monster hit album Thriller hit: "While I support my family in many endeavors, there will not be a reunion tour or series of concert dates."

The near yearlong reunion rumors seemed to have been confirmed yesterday, when Jermaine Jackson was interviewed for a story sent around the world by the prestigious Australian Associated Press wire service. He reportedly said, "Everything has finally been agreed to. It’s taken over a year to organize all the dates and schedules but its finally on and will happen. It will include Michael and Janet -- we will all be back together again next year."

Hours later though, Michael killed all hopes of such a reunion. He issued an official statement simply saying, "there will not be one.”

Luxe Life has previously reported that other members of the Jackson family had been working with a Beverly Hills producer to re-stage a series of shows here in Vegas at a nightclub attached to the Miracle Mile shops at the Planet Hollywood resort casino.
