Criss Angel delays preview openings of Believe
By Robin Leach
For a third time, Mindfreak magician Criss Angel has had to postpone the preview openings of his new Cirque du Soleil Believe spectacular. No sooner did I write earlier this morning that he was into his final two weeks of rehearsals before previews begin a week from Friday that news of yet another delay slipped out. Instead of now beginning on Sept. 12, it's been pushed back to Sept. 26 -- but I am assured the grand opening night remains in place for Oct. 10.
In an e-mail, Criss stated: “This show has been a dream of mine for 15 years. We are all working hard to bring this dream to reality and we can't unveil this creation to the world until all the elements are perfected. I know that once we open the doors, the audience will have one of the most amazing live show experiences of their lives."
A Cirque spokesman confirmed to Luxe Life directly: "Due to the enormous complexities and technical precision required in creating the show Criss Angel Believe, previews scheduled to begin Sept. 12 will instead begin Sept. 26. From Sept. 26 to Oct. 7 there will be one 7 p.m. performance per day. Customers who have purchased tickets for these preview performances will be automatically refunded or can call 800-557-7428 to re-schedule their attendance."
