Scribbles and tonight’s tip on the Strip
By Robin Leach
*Motorcycle stunt hero Carey Hart, who owns the Wasted Space lounge at the Hard Rock, took three other guy-pals to the X topless revue show at the Flamingo to show off his new girlfriend, who is one of the seductive stunning dancers there!
*It's all about the water! Members of the USA Men's Olympics gymnastics team stuck to Fiji water when they dined on the patio of hot sushi-spot Social House at Treasure Island. While noshing on assorted sushi rolls and specialty menu items, they watched the temptresses and pirates of the dueling ships in the Sirens of TI show. Silver medalist Jonathan Horton and teammates Alexander Artemev, Raj Bhavsar, Joseph Hagerty, Moran and Paul Hamm, Justin Spring and Kevin Tan went off to see Cirque du Soleil’s KA spectacular at MGM with U.S. women’s gymnast Shayla Worley. Then the next night they palled up with all the U.S. women's gymnastics group to watch the water-themed Le Reve show at Steve Wynn’s hotel, where the audience got them to go on show afterward for a standing ovation!

*While I was at the Yellowtail opening in the Bellagio, MGM’s CityCenter head honcho, Bobby Baldwin, told me he’s confident that the giant project will open on schedule next fall. Meanwhile, MGM President Jim Murren confirmed that only $700 million remains to be funded out of the last $2.3 billion portion now that the Chinese Construction Bank has anted up a $300 million investment in the massive undertaking of five boutique hotels and the six high-rise condo towers. Yep, the Chinese have joined the Dubai World partnership with our MGM to really internationalize the amazing site. With a half-billion square feet for retail, dining and entertainment, it's the largest, most expensive private commercial development ever undertaken in American history. Murren expects to secure the final funding before the end of the month, which will probably round out somewhere between $8 and $10 billion by the time the doors open late 2009! Obviously it will house the best Chinese restaurant in town when completed!
*Star Surveillance: Finally, our very busy Mayor Oscar Goodman got a night off from his round-the-clock, jam-packed schedule! He took in Cirque du Soleil’s early O water spectacular at the Bellagio and waved to fans, including Kourtney Kardashian and her boyfriend, who were sitting nearby ... Paris Hilton and younger sister Nicky visited Wolfgang Puck’s new Cut steak restaurant in the Palazzo for the first time with their respective beaus, Benji Madden and David Katzenburg, making a head-turning fabulous foursome ... among the stars who sat mesmerized by the on-stage antics of glam-rock Kiss at the Pearl in the Palms were top DJ Paul Oakenfold, UFC chieftain Dana White, comedian David Spade, Girls Next Door playmate Holly Madison and adult-movie veteran Ron Jeremy ... Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria Parker and her friends, Christina Milian and Wilmer Valderrama, partied, splashed and suntanned at MGM Grand’s Wet Republic pool club. Eva even enjoyed a relaxing poolside massage, and rejuvenated, she got them all dancing to the live sounds spun by Grammy award-winning DJ Sharam of Deep Dish ... Handsome and bearded Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody hung out at the Cathouse nightclub in the Luxor and was also seen at the new Lavo nightspot for dinner in the Palazzo ... Chris Nunez from the Miami Ink TV series sat at the bar of mod-mex Dos Caminos in the Palazzo with friends enjoying fish tacos and the famed guacamole. Nearby, Vanessa and Angela Simmons, daughters of Run DMC had two bodyguards standing on duty around them while they ordered Sangria, tacos, corn on the cob, refried beans and sweet potato fries.
Tonight's tips:
It’s the Palms daylong-nightlong Secret Agent Sleepover party -- and hip-hop star Cassidy will perform at the Moon nightclub and again at the 26th floor Fantasy suites after 1 a.m. It all started at noon today at the main Palms Pool when Billionaire Mafia presented the pajama-raincoat party! The 00 agents regroup at Moon at 10:30 p.m. and if it's anything like last year's event, everybody will be anxious to seduce Soviet-style with their lacy lingerie and killer high-heels! Don’t groan, but think of this as "From Russia with Lust."
Ryan Ross and Spencer Smith from Panic! At the Disco will celebrate their birthdays at the Blush boutique nightclub in the Wynn Las Vegas resort casino. They should walk the red carpet about 11 p.m., then kick off their night-long party. The celebration comes just days ahead of their MTV Video Music Awards appearance Sunday in Los Angeles, where they are nominated for Best Pop Video for their Nine in the Afternoon hit. If they win, that would make another great gift -- and be cause for an even grander celebration!
Tomorrow's tease
We've got the first exclusive details about the new volcano attraction being unveiled at the Mirage with the biggest lineup of rock drummers ever assembled, plus Duran Duran make possible plans for a live Halloween concert on the Strip. Pop-royal Michael Jackson steps out to celebrate his birthday and almost bumps into me celebrating mine -- and we’ve got photos of both! Terry Fator solves the mystery of the ugly lawsuit filed against him even before he opens up his $100 million run headlining on the Strip, and a Hannah Montana star entertains our hospitalized kids. The celebs are shining brightly at Jet, Prive, Tryst, Blush and the new hip-hot spot, Lavo -- even before it opens.
