Tonight’s tips: Planet Hollywood turns operatic with Domingo; Fernandez takes the stage at Mandalay Bay
By Robin Leach
The Mexican Independence celebrations continue with the greatest operatic artist of modern times, Placido Domingo in an extraordinary concert at the Theatre for the Performing Arts in the Planet Hollywood resort casino. He’ll celebrate afterwards at a Forplay lingerie model-decorated after-party in the nearby Prive nightclub there with record producer and hip-hop artist Ryan Leslie throwing out the Benjamins at the Money for Nothing party ... Alezandro Fernandez continues the Ole festivities in concert at the Mandalay Bay events center … Incredible singing ventriloquist and impressionist Terry Fator starts a three-day guest run at the Hilton… Check out the mix of African popular music and Western classical when Vampire Weekend goes for the blood at the Hard Rock Hotel.
Tomorrow’s tease
All the secrets are spilled as Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart and Mirage executives get ready for the star-studded musical spectacular planned for the December unveiling of the sensational new Volcano attraction … The fabulous foot-loose and fancy-free Fantasy dancers of the Luxor “bare all” for their new 2009 hot-as-it-gets ooh la la calendar, Austin Powers actor Verne Troyer, our thimble-sized titan, has the ladies crazed at his Prive party and a new “miracle” hypnotist coming to Planet Hollywood’s theater will “impale your hand through a spike” without you feeling any pain whatsoever!
