Tonight’s tips: Celebrate independence at Dos Caminos
By Robin Leach
OLE! It’s officially Mexican Independence Day and Dos Caminos restaurant and lounge in the Palazzo turns up the heat with an entertainment-filled night, fueled by the hot spot’s tequila cocktails and spicy “south of the border” dishes. DJ Carlos Sanchez spins Latin Funk starting at 8 p.m. with backings by percussionist Cayce Woody and trumpeter Rico DeLargo welcoming the Mayan Kings, who take the stage at 10 p.m., followed by the DJ stylings of The Martinez Brothers at 11 p.m. Dos Caminos resident DJ Cyber Kid spins through after that until the pre-dawn hours … MTV’s Buzzin’ stars Cisco & Shwayze walk the red carpet prior to hosing a party at the boutique Blush nightclub in the Wynn. Shwayze’s new album, which features the hit songs “Corona & Lime” and “Buzzin” has just gone on sale to tie-in with the new fall episodes of their show … Direct from the MTV Video Music Awards, hot Canadian rockers Tokyo Police Club will arrest you with their performance at Carey Hart’s new Wasted Space rock lounge in the Hard Rock Hotel. They are joined by The Whigs and Halloween Town for the triple-header … Filthy Mouth clothing brings its edgy and controversial Talk Dirty fashion line to a model launch party at Moon atop the Palms Fantasy Tower … Comic Michael Pace is joined by fellow jokesters Ronnie Schell and Debbie Praver for a week’s run of twice-nightly standup at the famous Improv Comedy Club in Harrah’s.
Tomorrow’s tease: Mindfreak magician Criss Angel lets Luxe Life in on a super-exclusive story that will totally delight his army of “Loyals,” and Pamela Anderson gets “married again” in Moscow, of all places! We’ll meet the mastermind Svengali behind the Britney Spears miracle comeback and see how, as the entire family reunites after months of bitter feuding and accusations, his 12-month transformation took her from pop-wreck back to pop superstar again. Hailed as America’s top chef, Thomas Keller writes some wise words of wisdom about his crazed career choice. Then on Thursday, get ready for our exclusive first look behind the scenes -– with first photos -- of Criss Angel’s new Believe show. It’s our scoop sit-down with the Mindfreak magician in his dressing room as he reveals first glimpses of the incredible illusions and creative costumes. Criss talks candidly about the gigantic technical challenges he’s determined to overcome for the new Halloween gala opening and how he even got NASA to play a key role in the $150-million spectacular!
