Multiple surgeries for Barker as he begins recovery fight
By Robin Leach
A shroud of secrecy has been wrapped around Adam Goldstein and Travis Barker’s treatments at the Georgia burn clinic. However, Luxe Life can confirm that Travis has already undergone “multiple surgeries” and “skin grafts” related to his second- and third-degree torso burns. Good friend Bill Nosel, who is a spokesman for Barker’s Famous Stars and Straps clothing company, has said: “Travis is trying to stay upbeat.” He has started a fund for donations for Travis’ personal assistant, Chris Baker, and Travis’ bodyguard, Charles Sill, who died in last weekend’s plane crash in South Carolina.
No word yet on any progress or medical treatments for Adam –- known as DJ AM -- who is a partner at Pure Management Group’s LAX nightclub at the Luxor. He also escaped the fiery crash of the Learjet. Police at the scene now believe that Adam and Travis escaped by sliding down the right wing of the plane before it exploded after the crash.
Former Miss America and Playboy centerfold Shanna Moakler, who was divorced from Travis, is maintaining her vigil at the hospital. She has vowed to stay there as long as he needs her to boost his emotional strength to fight for a full recovery. Her mother, meanwhile, is caring for their two young children. Shanna’s mom said: “They still love each other and care for each other even though they are no longer married. They will always be together for the sake of their lovely children.”
