Chefs step to the plate at Wolfgang Puck chef’s dinner

A cavalcade of chefs and other Vegas VIPs are making the journey to Los Angeles in support of starchef Wolfgang Puck’s annual weekend-long American Wine and Food Festival. I’ll be there, too ,handling the MC and auction duties at Sunday’s ninth annual chef’s dinner, with culinary superstars Nobu Matsuhiusa (Hard Rock) and Joel Robuchon (MGM Grand), who both have restaurants here in Vegas. They join kitchen kings, Eric Ripert, Sam Mason, Daniel Humm and Jose Andres in the kitchens at Spago LA. But first, there’s the festival itself at the Universal movie studios Saturday night. Vegas chefs Tom Colicchio (Craftsteak-MGM), Matthew Hurley (Cut-Palazzo) David Robins & Eric Klein (Spago-Caesars Palace), Michael Mina (Bellagio and Mandalay Bay) Pierro Selveggio and Luciano Pellegrini (Valentinos-Venetian), Julian Serrano (Picasso-Bellagio), Joachim Splical (Patina-Venetian) and Alex Stratta (Alex-Wynn) are among the 50 restaurateurs and 100 wineries taking part. It’s the largest fundraiser of its kind for the Meals on Wheels programs throughout Los Angeles. Our Vegas headquartered Patron Tequila run by John Paul DeJoria and Ed Brown is one of the lead sponsors along with our Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada.
