Today’s the final day of ShoWest 2009’s four-day convention here, and what a star-studded event it will be. There’s a celebrity luncheon and tonight an awards dinner -- and the Hollywood turnout covers all ages!
From legendary veteran actor Sir Michael Caine to fresh-faced teen heartthrob Zac Efron, all the stars will shine under the spotlight and on the red carpet. Sir Michael will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Zac will receive the Breakthrough Performer of the Year Award.
Michael Caine.
Other stars scheduled to attend include Dennis Quaid (Male Star of the Year), Sienna Miller (Supporting Actress of the Year), Patricia Clarkson (Independent Award of Excellence in Acting), Bradley Cooper (Comedy Star of the Year), Chris Pine (Male Star of Tomorrow) and Zack Snyder (Director of the Year). Director Michael Bay will be presented with the Vanguard Award of Excellence.
The cast of Twilight will be recognized for their film being named Favorite 2008 Movie. The entire cast of Sorority Row, including The Hills star Audrina Patridge and Step Up 2: The Streets star Briana Evigan, will be given individual Female Star of Tomorrow Awards. Film critic Roger Ebert will be presented with an award for Career Achievement in Film Journalism.
Twilight cast members Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Kellan Lutz.
We’ll have our contributing photographers on the red carpet and close up on stage for the presentations, and we’ll bring you that photo report next week, along with my musings from a visit to the annual convention. Some 5,000 delegates from 50 countries are here for the star-studded and movie industry events.
