Here’s our newest blog from Miss Nevada USA Georgina Vaughan, our embedded Vegas DeLuxe special correspondent taking part in the Miss USA 2009 pageant alongside 50 other contestants:
“Sorry for the lack of writing. I have been jam-packed busy with events and filming! Monday was an all-day session of fun, but still very busy. I am really getting to know all the girls. It is so cool to hear all their stories of how they ended up where they are now in life.
“All 51 of us headed over to Town Square with the ever-present TV cameras to the Michael Stars store, where we were given 50 percent shopping discounts. The proceeds from everything we bought went to the Best Buddies organization.
“After shopping, a girl’s got to eat! We headed over to the restaurant Brio and had some amazing salmon. Once we finished at Town Square, all of us returned to our Planet Hollywood headquarters to rest up in our rooms before our big Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville fiesta.
“Little did I know that four girls would be picked to go up onstage and dance in front of the other 47 contestants, plus the entire restaurant. One of those four happened to be me, and I’m the worst dancer of the group! But I got up there and shook it!
“Off to bed now for another big day tomorrow.”

The Miss USA Pageant has returned for its second year to Las Vegas and the Theatre for the Performing Arts at Planet Hollywood and airs live on NBC on April 19.
