Who was kicked off DWTS tonight? It wasn’t last night’s low scorer!

The star thought most likely to get booted from tonight’s Dancing With the Stars was declared safe -- and the star thought the most unlikely to get kicked out this week was axed from the contest! Unpredictable viewers really upset the scoring for tonight’s fifth episode of Season 8 of ABC’s top-rated show.
Don’t read any further if you plan on watching the tape-delayed West Coast broadcast of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars and want nothing spoiled beforehand! But come back after the show to compare notes!
Fortunately, our Las Vegas-linked contestants -- Julianne Hough and Chuck Wicks, plus brother Derek Hough and his partner Lil’ Kim -- were declared safe. Leading contenders Gilles Marini with Cheryl Burke and Melissa Rycroft with Tony Dovolani also were declared safe.
The night was highlighted with the very hot and romantic dance between real-life engaged couple Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff. Everybody watching agreed that if this is how they partner on camera, imagine the sparks off camera!
Then came the shocks and surprises. Steve-O was declared safe with Lacy Schwimmer, so it came down to a dance-off between David Alan Grier with partner Kym Johnson performing a Viennese waltz and receiving 24 points, and Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska dancing the paso doble and receiving only 20 points.
As anticipation built to factor in the combined viewers’ votes, Maks’ choreographed routine for the 19 members of the Le Reve cast at the Wynn was performed in a unique, acrobatic ballroom dancing style.

Once again in the final seconds, the suspense was maddening until host Tom Bergeron announced the upset of the night: David and Kym’s run had come to an end. Lawrence and Edyta live for another seven days!
Vegas DeLuxe will post the overnight dance floor photos and the Le Reve DWTS photo gallery tomorrow morning.
