No dance-off, but still a surprise exit on Dancing With the Stars

The sight of sex starlet Carmen Electra doing a hot Pussycat Dolls number on top of the judges’ table just about put an end to concentration on the Dancing With the Stars’ results show -- but no sudden-death dance-off elimination tonight!
Don’t read any further if you plan on watching the tape-delayed West Coast broadcast of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars and want nothing spoiled beforehand! But come back after the show to compare notes!
It was just a straightforward tabulation of the judges’ scores from last night with the overnight audience voting, but it still produced yet one more surprise.
Tom Bergeron, Edyta Sliwinska and Lawrence Taylor.
The show started with a repeat of Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough dancing the jive, not because they were in danger of being ousted but because the judges were so impressed with it from last night (they were last night’s leaders). That’s the second time in six weeks they’ve performed a repeat, which might indicate that the judges feel they could upset leaders Melissa Rycroft and Gilles Marini.
In addition to Carmen’s cabaret table dance -- we’ll have those scintillating photos early tomorrow -- the 2009 Broadway revival cast of West Side Story also performed “America” on the show, and Rascal Flatts executed their version of The Beatles’ “Revolution.”
Then came the first safe surprise: Lawrence Taylor will be back again next week with partner Edyta Sliwinska. That’s despite videotaped rehearsals on last night’s show looking atrocious, but he saved himself with a pep talk and won raves with the live dance. Sadly, Lawrence said that he wants Edyta to start wearing more clothes for her routines as his mom has now started watching the show and can’t understand why she wears so little!
Steve-O and Lacey Schwimmer.
Also safe: Lil’ Kim, Melissa Rycroft, Shawn Johnson, Gilles Marini and our Vegas darling Julianne Hough with real-life partner Chuck Wicks.
This left Steve-O and Ty Murray as the final two nail-biters. At last, the fans didn’t come through in large enough numbers. Ty Murray was deemed safe, and the Jackass stuntman and his partner Lacey Schwimmer were axed.
Vegas DeLuxe will have the overnight action photos from the dance floor, and we’ll be back next week to see whether Ty and partner Chelsie Hightower, Chuck and Julianne and Lawrence with Edyta wind up facing the exit door as the bottom three.
