Beyonce to end summer world tour with four shows at the Wynn
Beyonce's I Am ... Sasha Fierce CD cover.
By Don Chareunsy, Vegas DeLuxe editor
All the single ladies: Put your hands up ... for concert tickets.
Superstar Beyonce is bringing her 2009 “I Am ... Yours” World Tour to the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas. The pop music diva begins her North American shows at Madison Square Garden in NYC in June and winds down with four nights here from July 30 through Aug. 2.
Tickets for Beyonce’s North American concerts will be available as a pre-sale for Beyonce Fan Club members on Monday, while tickets for the Encore Theater shows will go on sale at a later date. Information will be available at EncoreLasVegas.com.
In an incredibly gracious move (and to ensure sell-out crowds), Beyonce is making 2,000 seats available at most of the super-sized venues for $20, plus applicable service charges. I’m guessing that won’t be the case in smaller venues like the Encore Theatre, which has, oh, 1,500 seats.
“I Am ...” is Beyonce’s first world tour since 1997’s “The Beyonce Experience,” which I reviewed at my previous A&E editor job in San Diego (the headline for the review included Beyoncelicious). Thierry Mugler has designed 71 new costumes for the tour, which includes a (Sasha) fierce all-female band and is co-sponsored by L’Oreal Paris and General Mills and produced by Live Nation and Music World Entertainment.
Uh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh ... oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. So there.
