It should come as no surprise that Brandon Flowers and his band The Killers rocked the new $70 million Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel last night. Brandon and the Boys are from Las Vegas, they were playing to a sellout crowd of devoted locals (and likely mostly visitors), plus, they were breaking in the brand-new, state-of-the-art Joint.
Aside from a little feedback, the premiere night went off without a hitch. The band is in top form, and the top-notch Joint will be the home of great concerts to come after the excellent christening by The Killers. Oh, and Brandon Flowers is awesome: talented, stylish and confident -- truly a fierce frontman.
Vegas DeLuxe’s Robin Leach, the man who is Vegas DeLuxe personified, reports that Owen Wilson, Stephen Dorff, and Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf attended the concert. What?! They weren’t elbow-to-elbow and front to back and back to front with me on the jam-packed SRO floor?
New Hampshire’s Wild Light opened for The Killers. It’s always a little sad when the audience cheers the loudest after the opening band announces that it is playing its final song.
