The legendary British alternative band The Cure, complete with dark eyeliner and lipstick, have blazed the music scene since the 1980s, and now 30 years later, not only are they still going strong with their “love won and lost” songs, but they also are revered by such fans as The Smashing Pumpkins, 311 and Tori Amos.
Our contributing photographers Erik Kabik and Scott Harrison were permitted to shoot these great photos during the first three songs of the show when lead singer Robert Smith and the group played at The Pearl Concert Theater in the Palms over the weekend to a sold-out crowd. It was part of their current The Cure 4 Tour promoting their newest album 4:13 Dreams.
After the performance, the four musicians clad from top to toe in trademark black relaxed up at the Ghostbar ultra lounge at the Palms, and the band members invited their stage crew to join them at an outdoor patio table overlooking the Strip. They ordered up the signature Ghostinis.
The Cure’s show was one of three major sellout concerts over the weekend: The Killers and Paul McCartney ushered in a new era at the brand new Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel. Click HERE and HERE for those stories.
