We didn’t win the premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but we did get the only Hugh Jackman wax double anywhere in the world. It will be unveiled privately today at 11 a.m. at Madame Tussauds museum in The Venetian. I’ve been wondering if Hugh might surprise us with a sneak visit, but I’ve been told not to bother holding my breath!
The Wolverine wax figure will go on display to the public at noon complete with the motorcycle used in Wolverine filming. Guests will be able to sit on the bike for the free photo op with the slice- ’em-and-dice-’em mutant!

It’s now a matter of hours before the year’s hottest movie is unveiled, and here in Las Vegas the first public showing is scheduled for 11:59 p.m. tomorrow night -- and if you’re at the Brenden Theaters in the Palms for the nonstop-midnight-onward screenings, you’ll get a souvenir Wolverine poster!
X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
On Friday, Marvel Comics Wolverine creators John Romita Sr. and Herb Trimpe will join with Wolverine artists John Romita Jr. and Josef Rubinstein in weekend appearances at the Brenden Theaters. Additionally, Comic Oasis turns Friday into “Free Comic Book Day” with the Wolverine artists.

BTW, the U.S. premiere contest was won by Tempe, Ariz., even though I recorded a YouTube video for my Las Vegas pitch. Tempe doesn’t have the Strip or the showgirls, so what gives? Then I’m told Hastings, Neb., was the runner-up! Eh? I’m told in both cases that nearly every man, woman and child joined in the pitch, probably ’cos they have nothing better to do there! Sour grapes? You bet!
