With just five celebrity teams remaining on ABC’s top-rated Dancing With the Stars, Johnny Avello, executive director of the Race & Sports Book at Wynn Las Vegas, released his latest odds yesterday for the DWTS winner. Johnny politely notes that his odds are for entertainment purposes only.
Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke opened at 18 to 1 and are now 2 to 1; Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani started at 14 to 1 and currently are 3 to 1; Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas began at 5 to 1 and now are at 7 to 2; Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough have really closed the gap from a 30-to-1 start to the current standing at 5 to 1. Finally, it looks as if Ty Murray and our remaining female Vegas pro dancer Chelsie Hightower don’t stand a chance. They opened at 10 to 1 but have slipped to 15 to 1.
The six remaining couples on Dancing With the Stars' Season 8 on April 28.
Johnny has more than 20 years of experience in the gaming industry, and his predictions are derived from a combination of odds-making formulas, researching and reading, and networking with people in the business and community. His TV show odds are continually featured on TV and radio programs including Extra, Good Morning America and E! Entertainment’s Daily 10.
