Underworld, the British electronica group comprised of Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, was back in Las Vegas last night for the first time in about 10 years in a concert at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel. The duo, best known for their anthem “Born Slippy” from Danny Boyle’s 1996 modern-day classic “Trainspotting,” has recorded together since 1980.

Our always-busy contributing photographer Erik Kabik was on hand to capture these colorful photos of Underworld. Click HERE for our Las Vegas Sun colleague Deanna Rilling’s interview with Karl this week.

Underworld’s most recent studio album Oblivion With Bells was released in 2007. They completed the soundtrack to Danny Boyle’s film Sunshine in late 2006, but the official soundtrack wasn’t released until November of last year, more than a year after the film’s release. Darren Price joined Underworld four years ago as a keyboardist, mixer and live assistant.
