Vegas Rocks magazine celebrated its fifth year with an event in front of the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign to break the Guinness Book of World Records mark. The publication, with the help of Mayor Oscar Goodman, aimed to eclipse the record for most guitar players performing “Viva Las Vegas.”

Oscar, in a brown suit, played guitar with the crowd of leather clad and longhaired rockers. He congratulated Vegas Rocks on its success and five-year anniversary.

Vegas Rocks' 'Viva Las Vegas'

Vegas Rocks Publisher and Editor Sally Steel and an Elvis impersonator were among the crowd who played the Elvis version of “Viva Las Vegas,” followed by The Dead Kennedys’ version of the classic song.

Our contributing photographer Erik Kabik captured all the action south of the Strip in the only-in-Las Vegas event.
