Strip Scribbles: Mac King nears 1 millionth audience member mark

The Mac King Comedy Magic Show is celebrating its 1 millionth guest this summer with a prize package in partnership with Harrah’s. All guests who attend a performance of the show from Aug. 7-29 will have the chance to win the giveaway, which includes a two-night stay at Harrah’s, dinner for two at The Range Steakhouse, a spa treatment for two at Harrah’s Spa, a Mac King Magic in a Minute magic kit, a T-shirt and a meet and greet with Mac.

Mac has performed his family-friendly routine at Harrah’s since January 2000. “It’s amazing to think that I’ve been entertaining almost a million guests over the past nine years,” Mac said. “I love my job and enjoy going to work every day making people laugh and have a great time. … I look forward to performing to an additional 1 million guests here at Harrah’s.”

“One million audience members is a huge feat,” said Harrah’s President Don Marrandino. “In a town that changes as quickly as Las Vegas, Mac’s longevity and success is a real testament to the kind of performer he is. He packs our showroom daily with guests who will leave knowing they saw a great show at a great price.”

*On the first night of Bette Midler’s newest run of The Showgirl Must Go On shows in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace were legendary actress comedienne Lilly Tomlin and separately Broadway and TV star Kristen Chenoweth, who makes a guest appearance on Fox’s Glee when the high school musical show kicks off next month. Bette’s current run continues through Oct. 17.

Star surveillance

Tina from Season 2 of VH1’s Real Chance of Love was at Jet in The Mirage with a bevy of beauties to celebrate her role on the show after Mist Bar & Lounge hosted the cast mates at the season premiere party. Adult film vixen Shyla Stylez also was at Jet with a friend after spending the day poolside at Bare Pool Lounge. … Boxing sensation Floyd Mayweather Jr. celebrated his girlfriend Melissa Brim’s birthday at the Bank in the Bellagio during its “Girls of Summer” event in honor of Las Vegas’ 25 sexiest socialites. Partying nearby was Las Vegas magician Steve Wyrick, who was celebrating a friend’s birthday. … Recording artist Baby Bash hosted an autograph-signing session at Hawaiian Tropic Zone inside Miracle Mile Shops.. … There was a UFC evening with an after-fight party and a special advance screening of MMA 30 with show host Dave Farra. Special guests included fighter Junie Browning and Randy Couture’s wife Kim Couture. … Fox News anchor and radio show host Sean Hannity hit First Food & Bar for late-night meals on two consecutive nights at the Palazzo. The first night with a group at about 2:30 a.m., he enjoyed steak and eggs and the new menu item cheese fondue. The next evening, Sean returned and this time sat at the chef’s table, where he topped off the meal with house made donuts.

Tonight’s tips

Season 5 of illusionist Criss Angel’s hit A&E series Mindfreak kicks off tonight, and there will be a season premiere party at Liquidity Bar in the Luxor. … The new comedy The Goods, opening nationwide Friday, gets the red carpet treatment at Planet Hollywood, with the film’s stars -- including Jeremy Piven, Will Ferrell and Alan Thicke -- scheduled to appear. … Back for a second week, Way Back Wednesdays is at LAX in the Luxor featuring host Emmanuel Lewis. … And Coolio brings his “Gangsta’s Paradise” to Rok Vegas in New York-New York.
