Following in Vegas DeLuxe’s footsteps regarding Michael Jackson

In the past few weeks, other media outlets have finally confirmed what I reported shortly after the death of Michael Jackson on June 25.

*E! reported on Aug. 6 that Neverland might be moving to Las Vegas from outside Santa Barbara, Calif., to be fashioned into a Graceland-style tourist attraction. Michael’s father, Joe Jackson, and sister LaToya Jackson have said in recent interviews that Neverland is moving to Las Vegas, with LaToya telling KVBC entertainment reporter Alicia Jacobs that she is “95 percent sure” that Neverland is moving here.

*In one of my early stories after Michael’s death, I wrote that the drug that killed Michael would be traced back to Las Vegas. I’ve been proven true yet again, as The Associated Press reported yesterday that the anesthetic that investigators believe killed Michael came from a Nevada pharmacy raided this week.

Meantime, Michael’s albums continue to break records, and, sadly, his estate is making more money with him gone than when he was alive. Tribute concerts are scheduled for near or on his birthday on Aug. 29.
