NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal of the Cleveland Cavaliers and boxing superstar Oscar de la Hoya challenged each other at a press conference at Planet Hollywood for a matchup on Shaq’s new ABC series Shaq Vs, which premiered last night. The boxing match filmed here will air in a future episode.

In the one-hour series, Shaq will take his athletic prowess beyond the basketball court and strive to become a champion in a new sport each week. Upcoming challenges include competing against champion athletes such as Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, swimmer Michael Phelps and volleyball players Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh.
