Heavy metal band Down thrilled fans last night with its show at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay. Our contributing photographer -- and self-admitted heavy metal fan -- Scott Harrison was front and center as former Pantera lead singer Phil Anselmo took the stage with his five-member group.

The band formed in New Orleans in 1991 and also includes guitarists Pepper Keenan and Kirk Windstein, bassist Rex Brown and drummer Jimmy Bower. Down has released three studio albums and is currently at work on its fourth CD Down IV.
