Peepshow princess Holly Madison looks evermore definite in making the move to Las Vegas a permanent one. While still searching for the perfect Barbie home here, she’s put her two-bedroom Santa Monica, Calif., townhouse up for sale.
The open floor plan duplex, with spiral staircase, high ceilings, large windows, two balconies and an Italian-style kitchen with stainless steel appliances and Caesar stone countertops, has a $700,000 price tag. It has a fireplace, a unique black chandelier, honey-colored wood floors, two side-by-side parking spots and a security system complete with video intercom. It’s also a healthy walk to the beach!
The sale of her Los Angeles area base comes as rumors grow that her contract will be renewed for the next 90-day run of the Planet Hollywood show. Her co-star Shoshana Bean will return to Broadway in early September, and Shoshana’s guest spot will be taken by former Danity Kane singer and sexy Playboy centerfold Aubrey O’Day.
Holly also is setting her new hometown as the backdrop for her VH1 reality series pilot to be shot here next month.
Criss Angel.
*Tonight’s the night that Mindfreak magician Criss Angel takes on one of his biggest challenges yet. The Luxor headliner with Cirque du Soleil’s Believe will attempt to levitate not only a crowd of people on the Strip for his 10 p.m. A&E series, but also viewers can follow along at home in an attempt to raise them from the couch (in awe)!
*MMA star Randy Couture and his wife Kim were joined by fighter Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort and rap’s Master P for the Tuff -N-Uff fights at The Orleans. The highlight was Randy’s son Ryan’s fight, and our contributing photographer Ray Kasprowicz was on hand for all the ring action.
The up-and-coming fighters of Tuff-N-Uff meet again this Friday for another round of combat at The Orleans, and having attended a few events, I can vouch that it’s all nonstop, thrilling action and a chance to see tomorrow’s UFC stars in action starting out on their career paths.
*After previous runs at the Riviera and Sahara, Japanese import Matsuri has settled into a new run at the Imperial Palace at center Strip. The 18 amazing dancer-athletes share the stage with the Australian quartet Human Nature. Click HERE for our Las Vegas Sun colleague Joe Brown’s opening night review.
Matsuri, a festival, holiday or celebration in Japan, features acrobatic stunts, marvels and many entertaining antics. Watch for the cast racing around the theater seats, and when they form a human jump rope!
Our contributing photographer Scott Harrison was on hand for the action for our Vegas DeLuxe photo gallery.
Star surveillance
Wrestling kingpin Shane McMahon was on the outdoor patio for drinks with two pals at Ghostbar in the Palms after the WWE Raw fights at Thomas & Mack. Also at Ghostbar was former NFL player Walter Briggs sipping on a beer before heading over to The Playboy Club. Professional wrestler Michael Mizanin, best known by his ring name The Miz, was at The Playboy Club in a black hoodie with a group of six sitting at a dance floor table enjoying Patron shots before their midnight departure. … Want to spot a celebrity? Dine at Society Cafe in Steve Wynn’s Encore, especially if you are a fan of Louie Anderson. The comedian says Society is one of his favorite restaurants and is there often for lunch with friends. He always makes time to visit with fans, too. … Among the magicians and magic fans attending and teaching at Stan Allan’s Magic Magazine Class of ’09 at South Point were actor Neil Patrick Harris, Britney Spears’ tour magician Ed Alonzo, Harrah’s headliner Mac King, Rio headliner Teller of Penn & Teller, Flamingo headliner Nathan Burton, masked magician Jeff McBride returning to Las Vegas after representing the U.S. in the World Magic forum in China, and Richard Garriott, the computer games inventor from Texas who paid $30 million to fly into space as an astronaut.
Having his cake and eating it, too, is a celebratory Louie Anderson.
