Strip Scribbles: Lady Gaga plays ‘Poker Face’ for the Palms

Singer Lady Gaga and Palms mogul George Maloof have signed an agreement that gives the Palms exclusive rights to her hit single “Poker Face” for a TV commercial and online usage that debuts today. Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” has been nominated for three Grammy Awards this year: Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Dance Recording.

This is the first look at the commercial. It features some of the spectacular amenities at the Palms, including the Fantasy Suites, The Playboy Club, Simon at Palms Place and Rain.

“We are extraordinarily honored to feature Lady Gaga’s ‘Poker Face’ in our brand new advertising campaign,” George Maloof said. “We feel that this is a special and unique opportunity to connect the Palms brand with one of the most respected and talented artists of our time. The commercial is hot.”

Lady Gaga will perform two shows at The Pearl in the Palms on Dec. 17 and 18.

*As I tweeted this morning, the 2010 panel of Miss America Pageant judges was announced this morning. We’d previously reported that radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was onboard. Rush will be joined by the vivacious Vivica A. Fox, 2008 Olympics gymnastics gold medalist Shawn Johnson (who we all fell in love with again while winning Dancing With the Stars Season 8), comic Paul Rodriguez, jazz instrumentalist Dave Koz, Miss America 2002 Katie Harmon and singer-songwriter Brooke White, a finalist on Season 7 of American Idol. The judges will arrive at Planet Hollywood on Jan. 24 to interview the contestants before the live TLC broadcast on Jan. 30 hosted by Mario Lopez.

Cops creator and producer John Langley was with his sons at an awards party in the Hard Rock, then went to play in the casino. He also turned up the next night at XS in the Encore, where World Series champion New York Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain and former Yankee slugger Jason Giambi partied on two consecutive nights. … NHL legend Wayne Gretzky enjoyed a jazz brunch at The Country Club in the Wynn. …. Comedian Ron White enjoyed an afternoon of drinks at the bar in the new B.B. King’s Blues Club opening officially this weekend at The Mirage. … Good Charlotte rocker and dynamite DJ Benji Madden was right alongside my table at Koi in Planet Hollywood for sushi and sashimi. … UFC President Dana White posed for photos with fans and dined in N9NE Steakhouse at the Palms in a group of nine. New York Yankees’ Mark Teixeira and his wife also were at N9NE. Upstairs at Moon, actor Vince Colosimo partied with friends at a VIP table.

It’s an amazing turnout of magic masters tonight for their Fantasma Magic salute to manager and magician Peter Raveen.
