It was funky, sweet and rocking soul music at its best. That’s the description our contributing photographer Erik Kabik gave me after he finished shooting this photo gallery last night. Black Joe Lewis and The Honeybears performed at Carey Hart’s Wasted Space in the Hard Rock Hotel for the folks of Wendoh Media celebrating the holiday season.

The blues band, with its healthy influence of King Curtis, was formed two years ago in Austin, Texas. It has already been named by Esquire as one of the Top 10 new groups set for 2010 breakout stardom.

Black Joe Lewis and The Honeybears

Black Joe Lewis and The Honeybears performed seven consecutive times at the South by Southwest Festival, and that propelled their debut album Tell ’Em What Your Name Is into the No. 1 slot on Waterloo's Top 50 Sellers List.

Sweet success is just around the bend!
