It might as well have been the first country show at The Pearl in the Palms last night. Normally, hotel mogul George Maloof showcases rockers, pop stars and MMA fights there, but it was a packed house when Trace Adkins hit the stage.

Headliner Trace even managed to tear away our contributing photographer Tom Donoghue from arena-side at Thomas & Mack Center, where he is covering all 10 competition days by the cowboys and cowgirls here for the 25th anniversary Las Vegas Wrangler National Finals Rodeo as it enters its 51st year. Tom also captured Day 7 of NFR at Thomas & Mack last night, and we’ll post his photos later.

Meantime, enjoy this photo gallery of great shots on his change-of-pace pictorial night.

Tom told me: “It was a ‘Honkytonk Badonkadonk’ evening. Trace is 47 years old, but he performs as a youngster half his age with a heart twice as big. He performed his hits, including ‘Ladies Who Love Country Boys’ and ‘All the Songs About Me,’ and had the rodeo fans on their feet applauding as if he’d just managed to stay atop a bucking bull for a full minute. He really conquered them all.”
