Rumors were running rampant today that the fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is now “a done deal” and that it’s just 12 weeks away and set for March 13 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

In case the rumors prove true, we asked our contributing photographer Tom Donoghue to compile some of his favorite photographs from Floyd and Manny’s boxing careers in Las Vegas.

The rival Las Vegas promoters are said to be Bob Arum and Oscar de la Hoya. An official announcement could be coming as early as this week, although MGM officials caution that there is no official word and that they have nothing definite to announce.

“This will be the biggest sporting event to hit Las Vegas if it happens here,” I was told. “They could double-handedly solve the tourism woes of the city in one long weekend!”

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had been hoping to lure the fight to Texas, but it’s believed that Floyd's camp nixed that so he could train and fight here.
