Photo Gallery: Ne-Yo spreads holiday cheer at Boys & Girls Club

Singer, songwriter and Las Vegas native Ne-Yo returned home yesterday to play Santa for at-risk and disadvantaged youth. The multiplatinum-selling, three-time Grammy Award-winning Def Jam recording artist is the founder of the philanthropic Compound Foundation, his nonprofit organization committed to empowering at-risk and disadvantaged youth in the child welfare system to become productive and successful adults.

This past weekend was the third annual Giving Tour, a project of the year-round resource program It’s Cool Having Tools, in which more than 400 youth identified by local agencies were given a free lunch and a toy or bicycle for younger kids from Ne-Yo. The singer even added an MP3 player for the older kids and organized games, including 3-on-3 basketball, group dance competitions, guest speakers and performances from young local artists.

It all took place at The Boys & Girls Club in North Las Vegas and was the tour’s only stop that was open to media. Ne-Yo likes to keep his charitable giving private and unpublicized but allowed this photo session.
