Who would’ve guessed fusion cooking means something else besides East meets West -- it also means a rock and roll kitchen party! The Food Network superstar Guy Fieri returned to his hometown over the weekend and wowed music and food fans alike in a House of Blues show at Mandalay Bay. The spiky-haired blond is a UNLV graduate who lived here for many years.

Our contributing photographer Scott Harrison was on hand for the kitchen king as he rocked the sell-out crowd. We’ve all heard of singing in the shower, but singing in the kitchen was never on the drawing board -- except that Guy has turned it into a recipe for success.

*TV cameras shot the pilot for nightlife party queen Tiffany Masters’ new reality TV series over the weekend. They covered her Cabana Candy Christmas Crawl and then shot her dinner at Fix in the Bellagio with her Arm Charms contingent of curvy cuties. The cameras also rolled at her Caramel Lounge party, with 20 beauties dressed in sexy Santa outfits, and then onto the Bank nightclub to party till dawn.

*Congratulations to The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel for being nominated as Best New Major Concert Venue after being open only eight months. The Joint is among five venues nominated for the Pollstar Award. “We couldn’t possibly be happier with the responses we have received from the industry side. We have consistently been one of the top three grossing venues in the country, and we had a monstrous year,” said Paul Davis, Hard Rock’s vice president of entertainment. The Pollstar Awards will be held Feb. 17 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

Tomorrow’s teases

Our series on Cirque du Soleil’s Viva Elvis at Aria continues with our one-on-one with Cirque Creative VP Gilles Ste.-Croix. We’ll also have the amazing Robin Hood high-roller story of the player who will bet tens of thousands of dollars and hopefully beat the bank and pay off all the debts of two families facing economic grief.
