There wasn’t a moment to spare once American Idol Season 8 winner Kris Allen arrived in Las Vegas for the first time yesterday afternoon. It’s a nonstop, two-day, dawn-to-dusk schedule of work and play for the Conway, Ark., native!
Kris’ first stop with his wife Katy and his band mates was at Stack in The Mirage, followed by his first Cirque du Soleil show, The Beatles Love, also at The Mirage. Kris enjoyed a White Russian during the performance, while Katy sipped on white wine.
Then it was time for Kris to work, and he performed a set at the new B.B. King’s Blues Club steps away from Love and opposite The Beatles Revolution Lounge. Upon hitting the stage about 12:30 a.m., Kris launched into his cover of Kanye West’s “Heartless,” one of his most praised performances during Idol. His set also included Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror” and songs from his self-titled debut CD, including “Can’t Stay Away,” “Alright With Me,” “Is It Over” and “Red Guitar.”
Leading lens lady Denise Truscello was at front center stage for this close-up photo gallery. Although into New Year’s Eve, the night wasn’t over for Kris and Katy, as they continued on to Jet in The Mirage. Our esteemed Editor Don Chareunsy had a great interview with Kris shortly after he landed in Las Vegas yesterday.

Kris stays on in Las Vegas today and will be performing for the Fox special from Mandalay Bay Beach that also features Carmen Electra, Sean Kingston and fellow American Idol alumnus Allison Iraheta before attending the Maroon 5 concert at The Pearl in the Palms.
