Photo Gallery: It’s Gene Simmons vs. Carrot Top in battle of the tongues

KISS frontman Gene Simmons did double duty on his visit to Las Vegas to host the launch of the “Moneybag” parties at Carey Hart’s Wasted Space in the Hard Rock Hotel. He brought his reality show cameras with him to film an episode of Family Jewels and recruited zany Luxor headliner comedian Carrot Top and Jason Dussault to join in the fun.

Before hitting the Hard Rock, Gene and Carrot Top stopped for dinner at the nearby Buca di Beppo, and the strangest contest ever for TV got underway. Call it the battle of the tongues!

Our contributing photographer Denise Truscello shot Gene’s tongue as the comic fed him a slice of pie. Then contributing photographer Erik Kabik snapped the reverse shot of Gene grabbing for Carrot Top’s tongue. You can write your own captions for these bizarre photos!

Erik continued on with the zany couple to Wasted Space to record the remainder of the night’s adventures. You just never know what’s going to happen on the Vegas night scene, but in all my days of chronicling Neon City by night, this tongue-lashing was a first!
