It’s a pie in the sky challenge for local personalities

It might well be a mess and some of the poorest pizzas ever cooked, but it’s all for charity. Hopefully fans will not be too disappointed, and, at the very least, it will be creative! Tonight, several Strip stars and local DJ & TV personalities will fire up the ovens to open the new Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza on 215 and West Flamingo.
I’ve taken a couple of lessons from star chef Wolfgang Puck, so the dough remains in my hands and not on the floor when I toss it! Goodness knows how Erich Bergen and Jeff Leibow from Jersey Boys will do, but never underestimate New Jersey characters where pizza is a privilege and not a quick snack.
George Wallace.
Heavyweight comedian George Wallace, who must love pizzas, will attempt to laugh us into submission, and you just know that if Zowie Bowie doesn’t sing us into defeat, they’ll simply dazzle with their glamour. (BTW, are they on the move in the next 20 days or so?)
Zowie Bowie is Marley Taylor and Chris Phillips.
At least seven experts, including some food critics, will judge us on seven criteria: presentation, smell, taste, texture, memorable after taste, ease of production and ease of eating! The winning recipe will be added to the menus of all five local Sammy’s locations, and a portion of each sale will be donated to our favorite charity for the balance of the month!
I’ve earmarked the Lou Ruvo Brain Institute Keep Memory Alive project as my cause.
