When tattooed motorcross champion Carey Hart was married to pop singer Pink, she turned him onto PETA and getting involved in protesting animal cruelty. Now he’s leading the charge with Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, Dennis Rodman and Miami Ink star Ami James with a new ad campaign promoting “Ink, Not Mink.” Carey, who is co-owner of Hart & Huntington Tattoo here, says “Be comfortable in your own skin and let animals keep theirs.” He unveiled the new poster at his Wasted Space inside the Hard Rock Hotel, and our contributing photographer Erik Kabik was there to capture the unveiling.

Lady Antebellum.

*Country superstar Kenny Chesney has one heckuva concert headed into the new double-the-size Joint in the Hard Rock’s new South Tower on April 25. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow for the Sun City Carnival Tour, which also will feature Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum. “This tour is going to be a wild ride,” said the singer-songwriter. “Miranda’s already done some shows with us, and her energy is the right stuff. Even though she’s country, she rocks hard. Lady Antebellum puts a real fresh fun spirit out there and are perfect to start the show. We’re going to do this as if we’re throwing a party.” Kenny, who has sold more than 1 million tickets to his shows each year for the past seven years, had the most attended tour of any music genre in 2008.

*The Palms will be the first resort in the world to offer the next generation of content delivery to both stars and concertgoers. The state-of-the art recording studio on the third floor of the Fantasy Tower has linked up with Aderra’s “Live in a Flash” USB technology. Now anything that happens on the property -- be it concerts, conferences, live DJ sets, nightclub acts or whatever you create -- can be fed into Palms owner George Maloof’s recording studio and immediately becomes available to customers within minutes. “They literally can leave an event with a pocket-keychain flash drive instantly uploaded with the live experiences. It’s the ultimate souvenir. The technology will change the way the hotel and the artists performing in our venues enhance our customer’s experience,” George said. The USB flash drive will be available as a key fob, a wristband and other custom styles.

Star surveillance

It was a collision of reality TV train wrecks when the trashy temptresses from Brett Michaels’ Rock of Love Bus Tour ran into the crazed characters of Charmed School. Now we’re learning that Brazilian rock fan Marisha will move from the bus to join Brandi M in Charmed School’s sophomore season! Can it get any stranger than that?! Our contributing photographer Hew Burney snapped the money shots at the Hard Rock Hotel, where he also found KISS rocker Gene Simmons at the appropriately named Mr. Lucky’s with a table of bridesmaids! … Comedian Bobby Slayton, who is winding down his 500-show run at Hooters Casino, is a big fan of the Hash House A Go-Go No. 1 scramble for his daily breakfast, and when our cameraman happened upon the brash-mouthed comic, he mugged it up with Chef Vidal to show his appreciation. … It was mixed martial arts fight action at the Hawaiian Tropic Zone inside Planet Hollywood. Clay “The Carpenter” Guida hosted a party for two consecutive nights with the Combat-In-Effect models, and sexy stunner Natalie Marie hosted the MMA Sports magazine release party, which brought out actor Andrew Keegan and UFC fighter Dan Cramer.

*Congratulations to the Palazzo cast of Jersey Boys because their counterparts in the London production were nominated for five Olivier Awards yesterday. Back in my hometown, the Oliviers are as prized and prestigious as a Tony Award. The musical racked up nominations for Best New Musical; Best Actor in a Musical (Ryan Molloy); Best Director (Des McAnuff); Best Theater Choreographer (Sergio Trujillo); and Best Sound Design (Steve Kennedy).

*If you can stop by the Land Rover Las Vegas dealership on West Sahara today between 6:30 and 8 p.m., it’s the “Sporting Clays Classic” auction to benefit our local Boy Scouts. The two-day event that is open to the public includes an auction with more than 60 items, including Smith & Wesson firearms, firearms training, vacations and outdoor adventures. Once there, you’ll learn all about tomorrow’s “Sporting Clays” shoot-out.

Now it’s time for me to load up the ammo, line up the targets and fire away with the best weekend highlight entertainment listings that score a solid bull’s eye. Around here we affectionately trigger that into action as the ROYAL ROBIN RUNDOWN:

Merle Haggard.

Friday, Feb. 6

*Merle Haggard, one of country music’s most talented and prolific songwriters with 37 consecutive Top 10 hits and 23 No. 1 singles, will “Sing Me Back Home” at the 600-seat Access Showroom in Aliante Station. The “Okie From Muskogee” show makes up for the canceled night last November.

*Ann and Nancy Wilson, the two lovely ladies who make up Heart, bring their sounds to the Human ’09 Tour, which makes a pre-Valentine’s stop for two nights at the Hilton.

*It’s a Latin explosion with that saucy, sassy senorita Charo, and in between the coochie-coochie flash and dash at the South Point, we hope she pulls out her Segovia classical guitar to play the sensible stuff, too!

*Singer Michael Bolton will drive the ladies wild with two nights of concerts at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay. You can bet he’ll pay a little homage to our favorite son, Frank Sinatra, but he might even swing out with some Pavarotti. Michael is one amazing vocalist who is just as comfortable with his version of Otis Redding’s “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay.”

*Comedy pals Ray Romano and Brad Garrett take off their TV personas for a racy standup at The Mirage for two nights, while funny femme Paula Poundstone brings the laughs at the Boulder Station for one night.

*It’s four rock groups for the price of one at Carey Hart’s Wasted Space. He’s got Voodoo Glow Skulls and the Toasters leading special guests Deals Gone Bad, One Pin Short and Buck O Nice into the weird name fray!

*One of the best Elvis Presley impersonators, Brandon Bennett, has a three-night stand at the Suncoast performing all the King’s hits in his Elvis My Way show through Sunday night.

Motley Crue.

Saturday, Feb. 7

*It’s the last of two concerts with Motley Crue as The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel is shuttered for renovations. The new double-the-size Joint opens in a new location at the Hard Rock in April with The Killers. Next-door neighbor Carey Hart presents Eagles of Death Metal with Living Things as special guest at his Wasted Space.

*Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter LeAnn Rimes belts her hits at the Star of the Desert Arena in Primm. LeAnn has sold nearly 40 million records, and her song “What I Cannot Change” is nominated for a Grammy Award on Sunday for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.

Paul Oakenfold.

*DJ Paul Oakenfold is back with “Perfecto” in the Palms, while Playboy Playmate Kiromi Oshima celebrates her birthday with a bash upstairs in The Playboy Club.

*The CineVegas Green Film Series continues at Springs Reserve with a viewing of director Jia Zhang-ke’s award-winning Still Life, which will be followed by a panel discussion. This is the only screening of Still Life in Las Vegas this year. More information is available at www.cinevegas.com/green.

*Vegas temptress Mikalah Gordon, who at 16 became American Idol’s youngest finalist in Season 4, turns 21 tonight, and the Gone Country star will celebrate at Tabu Ultra Lounge in the MGM Grand. Mikalah is working on her first studio album.

David Copperfield.

Sunday, Feb. 8

*Remember that heavyweight comedian Louie Anderson’s show Larger Than Life plays Sundays through Thursdays each week. His comedy deserves not to be overlooked on a quiet weekday night!

*Illusionist of the impossible David Copperfield is a seven-day-a-week magician, and his current run at MGM’s Hollywood Theater ends Feb. 18. David even added an afternoon show on Valentine’s Day!

Girls kissing at McFadden's.

*It’s Round 1 of the “Girl-On-Girl” kissing contest at McFadden’s in The Rio, where five couples will move on to next Sunday’s finals. Every contestant gets a free bottle of champagne for competing, and all the ladies drink for free! Ah, that magic word to encourage lip locking!

Monday’s tease

I’ll be back from a brief mini-vacation to recharge the batteries down in Cabo San Lucas with the photo report of Motley Crue’s last stand at The Joint as its walls come tumbling down! We’ll also have photos of the Danny Gans gala opening at the Encore, and, in advance of the Valentine’s Day opening of Terry Fator’s headliner residency at The Mirage, our exclusive one-on-one interview with all of his new show secrets.
