There’s not much room left on Kat Von D’s body, but the gorgeous and gregarious L.A. Ink star promises one day it will be completely covered in a body art suit! The celebrated tattoo artist hit Las Vegas with rocker boyfriend Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue to launch her book High Voltage Tattoo. While he was closing The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel, she attended book signings.
Our contributing photographer Scott Harrison caught up with her at Borders in Town Square, where MySpace sensation and transgender makeup artist Jeffree Star joined her. Scott stayed with the unique twosome as they partied at Tao in The Venetian to celebrate the book launch.
Nikki joined the twosome along with his son and Kat’s dad and sister for dinner at Tao. Fans with books for Kat to autograph, and pleading for her to sign them, kept her busy between bites. After dinner, more rockers and friends joined their party upstairs, and DJ Five welcomed them with shout-outs and urged the crowd to buy Kat’s book.
I’ve interviewed Kat previously, and although her appearance and display of tattoos can be slightly startling to an old fogey like me, she’s a sweet, sincere lady. She’s a stunner even without those unique markings around her eyes!

She ’fessed up that more than 60 percent of her body is decorated with art today, including her hands, fingers and wrists, and by the time the work is all over, it will be 99.9 percent! She plans to finish work on the part of her back that isn’t covered now with a mural of hot girls on motorcycles and low-rider cars.
