Interactive theatrical production and nightclub ignites at The Rio tonight

Fuego Raw Talent Live at the Sahara.

It’s no ordinary nightclub and no regular nightlife experience. Theatrical producer Nicole Durr, who goes by her initials N.D., launches her fiery Evolution of Nightlife with Fuego at The Rio tonight. It’s probably the first time anywhere in the world that segments of an interactive production with live performances have been woven into a club scene, with the stars joining partygoers to dance and play.

She has lined up a cast of talented dancers and singers as surreal characters in elaborate costumes and matched them into high-tech digital imaging with state-of-the-art technology. N.D. also has a band for the live performances and a lineup of world-renowned deejays twisting the turntables for the dancing. It all heats up into one wild and fabulous nightlife experience.

“Fuego means fire, and it stands for the passion in all of us,” said N.D., owner, director and creative force of the Latin-themed nightery. “The club will manifest this passion with hot Latin rhythms and will create the next generation of nightlife in Las Vegas. It will truly be an evolution of nightlife’.”

The venue can accommodate as many as 1,000 guests, and she promises it will feature some of the biggest names in the music industry. At tonight’s grand gala opening, salsa sensations Gilberto Santa Rosa and Victor Manuelle will perform an exclusive engagement as part of their current History Continues Tour.

“Fuego becomes a perfect match for the high-energy and uninhibited environment of The Rio,” said Marilyn Winn, president of The Rio, Paris and Bally’s. “Her concept fuses both entertainment and nightlife, offering an ever-changing club experience that will appeal to anyone looking to spend a memorable night in Las Vegas.”

N.D. most recently created and produced the live spectacular Fuego Raw Talent Live at the Sahara. Singers and dancers from that spectacular will be featured nightly at the Fuego club. She is working on the first-ever Spanish-language reality TV series Fuego en Vegas for Telemundo. She produced and directed the stunning theatrical spectacular Havana Nights that toured more than 15 countries and had 500 performances in the old Stardust until 2004.

Top Vegas nightlife veterans Mike Milner and Natalia Badzjo, as the operations manager, are leading the new nightclub undertaking.
