It was less than a 100-yard move, but it marked the end of more than 25 years as a fixture at the Imperial Palace: The third-longest-running show on the Strip called it quits in one spot and opened with a new lease on life nearly next door!

Hotel honcho Don Marrandino led the parade of more than 30 of the cast and crew from Legends in Concert to its new home at Harrah’s. There were more than two dozen in-costume impersonators including Elvis, Madonna, The Blues Brothers, Elton John, Jay Leno, Britney Spears, Garth Brooks, The Temptations, Whitney Houston, Bette Midler, Bobby Darin, Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Frankie Valli and Diana Ross and the Supremes.

Also on the mini-parade route were showgirls in full regalia and musicians playing their instruments while crewmembers propelled their equipment onwards to Harrah’s. Imperial Palace staff waved the long-running cast a fond farewell, and Harrah's employees were waiting to welcome them.

In less than 3 hours, Legends had moved from the Imperial Palace, marched down the Strip, set up in their new Harrah's home and were back on stage last night without skipping a beat. As they say, “It was if it never happened.”

Our contributing photographer Erik Kabik was right in the thick of it as more celebrity impersonators walked the Strip than ever before in showbiz history.
