Andrew Sasson on The Harmon Hotel & Spa: disappointment and commitment
By Robin Leach
Andrew Sasson, founder of The Light Group.
For the record, Vegas DeLuxe is posting the official statement by Andrew Sasson, founder of The Light Group, which developed the concept for, and will manage and operate, The Harmon Hotel & Spa at CityCenter. This morning, he expressed disappointment at yesterday’s announcement by CityCenter Holdings LLC that it has postponed the opening of his Harmon spa hotel until late 2010 and canceled the residential condominium component of the project.
The luxury nightclub visionary said, “We are disappointed to learn of CityCenter’s decision to delay the project and cancel the residences. We remain fully committed to this project and continue to believe that The Harmon will redefine luxury in Las Vegas and anywhere in the world. The reaction to the project has been outstanding, as demonstrated by the successful marketing of the residences; we share those purchasers’ disappointment.”
Andrew added, “My team and I have dedicated nearly four years to this project. We all remain absolutely committed to completion and opening of The Harmon at the earliest possible date, with all the amenities and attention to detail that guests should expect. We have assembled a dream team of the world’s most talented designers, restaurateurs and spa and salon professionals to create something unique to Las Vegas.
“The city’s first truly boutique hotel, The Harmon will embody Las Vegas’ evolution from ostentatious, over-the-top spectacle to a more discreet, sophisticated and modern version of luxury, delivering an unprecedented level of service and exclusivity.”
