Las Vegas plays regular host to the old-timers and newcomers of the music world simultaneously, but even so, it’s not an everyday occurrence when you get the Godfather of Funk at the same time as Bob Marley’s band The Wailers and Staind rocker Aaron Lewis starting out his own solo acoustic tour!

Our contributing photographers Erik Kabik and Scott Harrison teamed for double-duty to ensure that Vegas DeLuxe readers got to enjoy all three greats of music history. Here are their souvenir snapshots of one extraordinary night of music.

Triple Shot: Aaron Lewis, The Wailers & P-Funk

Erik was at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay, and Scott was out at the Green Valley Ranch. You can’t miss George Clinton, the Godfather of Funk, with his thick white beard and rainbow-colored hair when he led his Parliament Funkadelics on stage at the House of Blues.

Also at the House of Blues was bass player Aston “Family Man” or “Fams” Barrett, the original founder of The Wailers with reggae wonderman Bob Marley. At their show, The Wailers played classic Jamaica, mon! tunes such as Marley’s “Jammin’,” “Natural Mystic,” “Get Up Stand Up” and “Exodus.”

Aaron Lewis.

Out at The Ovation lounge in the Green Valley Ranch and at Aliante’s North Las Vegas casino, Staind lead singer Aaron Lewis performed two back-to-back concerts to kick off his solo acoustic tour, and Scott was allowed so close up, you can see the emotion right in Aaron’s face!

Enjoy the photos!
