Actor-singer Larry Wayne Morbitt has had an interesting and successful career both on Broadway and here in Las Vegas. Now this Sunday comes one of the most memorable events in his life.

Larry, who plays the role of Ubaldo Piangi in The Venetian’s Phantom -- the Las Vegas Spectacular, will sing the national anthem at President-elect Barrack Obama’s inaugural luncheon presented by the California State Society at the Ritz Carlton ballroom in Washington, D.C. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger also will be in attendance at the luncheon.

As part of the festivities, Larry also will sing “This Is the Moment,” written by my longtime composer friend Leslie Bricusse for his Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde. Larry joined the Las Vegas cast of Phantom after a seven-year-run in the same role on Broadway.
