Strip Scribbles: Brody Jenner takes it to the Bank for his new Bromance series

Brody Jenner at the Bank: "I am a golden god!"

TV heartthrob Brody Jenner became a cult phenomenon in MTV’s pop culture history with The Hills. Now he’s got his own MTV show Bromance, and to celebrate its launch, Brody and his entourage enjoyed dinner at Fix in the Bellagio. Afterwards, he took over the VIP section of the neighboring Bank nightclub. Instead of bringing his girlfriend, Playboy’s 2008 Playmate of the Year Jayde Nicole, he showed up with his brother Brandon!
Brody is the son of 1976 Olympic decathlon champion Bruce Jenner and actress Linda Thompson -- and now, because of the Hollywood marriage-go-round of weddings and divorces, he’s wound up as stepbrother to the three Kardashian sisters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney, who star on rival E! Entertainment’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Click HERE for our exclusive yesterday about that program!
When Brody reached the Bank, it’s an understatement to say that utter pandemonium ensued. It erupted! Hundreds of women rushed to catch even a glimpse of the handsome hunk, who has been linked romantically in Hollywood with such starlets as Kristin Cavallari, Lauren Conrad and Nicole Richie.
I’m slightly confused about Bromance because the title would indicate something to do with his Errol Flynn reputation as he cut a large swath through Tinseltown’s temptresses. I haven’t seen the show, but my Hollywood pals tell me, however, it’s all about his search for a new best male friend! Well, it worked for Paris Hilton, so it should work for Brody, which might explain why he showed up with brother Brandon and not gal pal Jayde.
Not only that, but he struck up another bromance with San Diego Chargers star Stephen Cooper, and that called for a bottle of champagne to pop! There was no shortage of frenzied femme fatale fans for Brody to party with, but he remained true to his TV show premise and also to his Playmate back in Flickerville!
Rita Rudner.
*Congratulations to comedienne Rita Rudner, who has won an extension on her Harrah’s headliner contract that keeps the bestselling author there until at least January 2012! The new three-year extension means the actress and screenwriter will have headlined for an unprecedented run that began in 2000 at New York-New York. She moved from there in October 2006 to Harrah’s and in total has now performed more than 2,000 shows on the Strip to nearly 1 million people! That’s a pretty impressive record, and one that puts her close to the top of the longevity ratings! Rita commented: “I’m so excited because three more years means 12 more gowns!” Harrah’s President Don Marrandino, who inked Rita’s new deal, added: “She is hands down the funniest comedienne in the country and our very own leading lady of comedy.” Rita is hoping to produce a movie project she’s written specifically with Las Vegas as the backdrop this fall.
*A new performance driving school that offers a wide range of adrenaline-packed driving programs has opened at the Club Spring Mountain motor sports experience. The Ron Fellows driving school provides an unparalleled track experience for students to practice and improve their driving skills out at the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch.
*Here’s an advance date so you don’t miss out on the “Enchanted Bridal Affair” being planned by celebrity chef Charlie Palmer at his Stirling Club banquet restaurant in Turnberry Place opposite the Hilton. As you can see from the photos, Charlie sure knows how to throw the ultimate in wedding parties! The affair is the finest collection of wedding exhibitors in Vegas including travel agents, fashion boutiques, jewelers and even invitation artists! Model beauty April Rose was named Maxim’s Hometown Hottie of the Year, and the Chicago brunette certainly turned heads at Jet in The Mirage when she hosted her celebration party. … Professional baseball players Jermaine Dye of the Chicago White Sox and Phil Hughes of the New York Yankees partied in the sights and sounds of LAX in the Luxor, where Miss Ethiopia Kidan Tesfahun also was partying with a pack of pals. Also there were San Diego Chargers linebackers Shaun Phillips and Stephen Cooper, who sipped on Dom Perignon champagne and enjoyed Patron tequila shots. … Pop music heartthrob Ryan Cabrera was the center of attention from admiring female fans when he partied in the Bank’s VIP section.
