Morning Call Photo Gallery: Miss Mississippi and Miss Georgia win scholarships on second night of Miss America preliminary competition

Miss Mississippi Christine Kozlowski and Miss Georgia Chasity Hardman won scholarships during the second night of preliminary competition in the 2009 Miss America Pageant.

In the second round of preliminary Miss America competition last night at Planet Hollywood, the two winners were Miss Georgia and Miss Mississippi. Chasity Hardman of Georgia was named the talent winner for her vocal performance of “Home” from The Wiz, and she received a $2,000 scholarship. Christine Kozlowski of Mississippi was the second preliminary lifestyle and fitness winner and received a $1,000 scholarship. She wore a black Winnwear swimsuit with white trim.

Miss Mississippi Christine Kozlowski won a scholarship in the fitness and lifestyle competition during the second night of preliminaries in the 2009 Miss America Pageant.

I’ll join a unique group of former Miss Americas today at Mariposa in Neiman Marcus at Fashion Show mall, and tomorrow we’ll have their predictions of who to watch for Saturday in the Top 10 coveted spots. Meantime, the final episode of Miss America: Countdown to the Crown airs tomorrow night on TLC, and at 8 p.m. PT tomorrow, we’ll have the official photo of the 15 gold-sash reality winners up for viewer voting. The four women with the most votes on the Internet and via text from viewers between then and before Saturday’s show will join the 11 contestants selected by the judges to make up the 15 finalists. Mario will announce them right after curtain up and the introductory production number and parade of states!
