Steve Wynn makes hotel history with three Mobil Five-Star wins

Hotel mogul Steve Wynn made history this morning with three Mobil Five-Star awards. The Wynn is now the only casino resort in the world to hold the prestigious recognition for three consecutive years.

It distinguishes the resort as one of only two in the world to receive Mobil Travel Guide’s highest honor across all Star-rated categories. The Tower Suites at Wynn Las Vegas, Alex Restaurant and The Spa each earned Five-Star recognition for their achievements, attaining the highest standards of excellence in hospitality.

Wynn Las Vegas President Andrew Pascal commented: “With these prestigious accolades, Mobil shows that they fully appreciate the sincere commitment of our staff to provide exceptional guest experiences and uncompromising quality. We are proud of their accomplishments and thrilled that Mobil has chosen to recognize and celebrate Wynn for three consecutive years.”

The Tower Suites at Wynn Las Vegas is one of just 44 hotels in North America to achieve the Mobil Five-Star award. Alex, where chef Alessandro Stratta’s elegant cuisine serves flavors of the French and Italian Riviera, is one of only 20 restaurants in North America and one of two in Las Vegas to earn Mobil’s top honor. Alex also was recognized with the Mobil Five-Star award in 2007 and 2008.

Further solidifying its position as the most luxurious spa experience in Las Vegas, The Spa is the only one in Las Vegas to be recognized with Mobil’s Five-Star award. Only eight spas in North America have attained this distinction in 2009. Previously, The Spa garnered acclaim from Mobil with three consecutive Four-Star award wins in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Since 1958, the Mobil Travel Guide’s ratings process has been based on more than 750 standardized criteria for hotels, making it the most rigorous and comprehensive in the industry. Travel experts are guessing that next year at this time, the adjoining new Encore will grab even more awards for Steve with its ever-larger luxurious amenities and facilities.
