It’s back to work for Criss & Holly after 10-day Mexico vacation
By Robin Leach
After a 10-day vacation in sun-soaked Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Mindfreak magician Criss Angel and his Girls Next Door love mate Holly Madison return to Las Vegas this weekend, and Criss resumes Believe at the Luxor for Cirque du Soleil.
During the pre-planned vacation for the entire cast and crew, Cirque’s fixation team began introducing changes to the production, as with all Cirque productions after the first 100 shows.
“This will continue through to the end of March exactly as was originally planned,” I was told. “This is the same as all Cirque shows. We tweak. We adjust. We take out what doesn’t work best, and we add new elements. This is quite normal with all of our productions and doesn’t signal anything else except our desire to always keep making something better.”
As a result, I understand that as many as four magic illusions might be added by Criss over the next two months, some immediately and the others to be phased in after technical rehearsals are completed to seamlessly integrate them into the computer timings of the production.
Criss Angel, Holly Madison, Jesse Waits, Paula Abdul and a friend at Tryst at the Wynn.
“Criss comes back relaxed, rested and ready. He now also starts work on Season 5 of Mindfreak as that reaches his 100th show,” one of his associates told me. “He’s happy, and they both had a wonderful vacation.”
While in Cabo, they met up with American Idol judge Paula Abdul, who also was on holiday at the same hotel!
While Criss gets back to work on Believe, Holly takes off for Tampa, Fla., and will join best friend and fellow Playmate Kendra Wilkinson to host Super Bowl festivities there next weekend.
