Steve Wynn to celebrate his birthday with Chairman’s Ball at the Encore

Congratulations to hotel mogul Steve Wynn, who celebrates his 67th birthday this weekend at his just-opened the Encore that sits alongside his successful the Wynn. Steve’s Chairman’s Ball -- named in a tip of the hat to Frank Sinatra -- will be stacked with 200 high-roller, VIP and celebrity friends. The birthday bash also marks the official private-celebration opening of the Encore.

The birthday ball comes just 48 hours after the prestigious Mobil Travel Guide awarded the Wynn top Five-Star honors yesterday. Click HERE for our story.

Singer Harry Connick Jr. is the star entertainer for tomorrow’s ball. Harry and his wife Jill have already arrived in town and were seen yesterday having lunch at the new Society cafe in the Encore. At an adjoining tale enjoying egg whites and turkey burgers was hip-hop superstar DMC of Run DMC.

For the record, Steve’s actual birthday will be on Tuesday, but this weekend was easier for the 200 guests to fly into town. Steve and his wife Elaine opened the Wynn on her birthday in April 2005 with guest star Hugh Jackman, so this event at the Encore is the complement!
