Page Six reports second split for Steve and Elaine Wynn

It’s over -- again -- for Steve Wynn and his wife, Elaine, says the New York Post.

Several sources confirm to Page Six that the couple split “several months ago but have been trying to keep it quiet.” Wynn officials are preparing a statement to respond to the report, and we will post that statement as soon as it is made available.

The reason, the sources say, is that the 67-year-old Las Vegas billionaire has “fallen in love with a younger British woman in her late 40s. She is age-appropriate for Steve, at least. Not exactly jailbait, but still younger than Elaine, who is 66.”

The couple split once before -- married first in 1963, they divorced in 1986, only to remarry five years later at an enormous gala at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. But this time the rupture is expected to be for good.

Relations between the two, who have two children, daughters Kevyn and Gillian, are still friendly. Elaine even threw Steve a 67th birthday party last weekend, attended by 400 people at the Encore. At the party, Elaine introduced Harry Connick Jr., who performed for such heavy hitters as Michael Milken, Thomas Lee, Steve Schwarzman, Terry Semel and Le Cirque ringmaster Sirio Maccioni.

A source added, “The split is as cordial as can be. The marriage is over, but they are still in business together.” In 2002, Elaine was named director of Wynn Resorts.

Steve still lives in a suite in the Wynn, while it is expected that Elaine will move into their home at the Southern Highlands Golf Club when construction is finished.

Update: Steve Wynn's public relations people aren't commenting on the break-up reports. "We don’t comment on the Wynn’s (sic) personal lives," an unidentified spokesperson said this afternoon in response to our e-mail request, which they asked us to put in writing.
