Apologies to our Merry Mayor of Mirth Oscar Goodman for the grabby headline, but how could we resist? Oscar was “shot” last night in a cameo appearance at the 10th anniversary dinner show of Marriage Can Be Murder on its first night in its new home at Fitzgerald’s downtown, just as we tipped in yesterday’s Vegas DeLuxe postings.

Despite the fact that our mayor sometimes riles his opponents and even makes lovely wife Carolyn grit her teeth occasionally, we can assure you that Oscar is alive and well this morning!

Marriage Can Be Murder

Our contributing photographer Erik Kabik was on hand last night for the mayor's welcoming proclamation to Eric Post, co-creator of the dinner theater show; his wife and co-creator Jayne Post; and the cast members. Our Executive Editor Johnny Kats also attended, and you can read his musings at our sister publication the Las Vegas Sun HERE.

Oscar, who has defended many accused of murder during his long career as an attorney, found himself “murdered,” and the audience had to play CSI and deduce who shot him! Marriage Can Be Murder is an interactive experience where the audience unknowingly becomes involved with mystery unfolding around them.

“Guests keep coming back to see the show because they enjoy the interaction of the characters onstage and in the crowd,” Eric said. “Our audience members love that they are submerged into the action, and with their reactions, each show takes on a different twist and turn. We knew 10 years ago our idea of dinner theater was different than anything else in Las Vegas, and we look forward to celebrating 10 more years of Marriage Can Be Murder.”

The theater concept was created more than 20 years ago by the couple and has been seen by more than 250,000 here in the past 10 years.
