Following up on our story yesterday of Hugh Hefner’s 19-year-old twin girlfriends Karissa and Kristina Shannon coming to Las Vegas for the weekend, Holly Madison has confirmed that the Girls Next Door TV crew will be filming Hef and the ladies at her Peepshow in Planet Hollywood over the weekend.

Holly says she intends to pull the Playboy king, her ex-boyfriend, out of the audience and up onstage for the pink-paint, handcuffed-to-bed number. I wonder if Hef’s favorite color is pink? It will be after the sexy scene!

Phil Ivey.

*Over at the World Series of Poker in The Rio, two Las Vegas players have wound up in the final table of 9 for the right to play for the $8.5 million purse in November. Hometown poker pro Phil Ivey and player Jeff Shulman will do battle against seven others, including chip leader Darvin Moon, a logger from Maryland. It’s been a month of firsts for Darvin: his first plane ride, his first trip to Las Vegas and his first time playing in the WSOP. Beginner’s luck, anyone?!

Tom Bergeron, Samantha Harris, Julianne Hough and Chuck Wicks.

*Our favorite hometown Dancing With the Stars professional Julianne Hough, who graduated from our Las Vegas Academy of Music, shines solo with her country music at Mandalay Bay Beach over Labor Day weekend. The two-time DWTS champion is now a Mercury Nashville recording artist working on her sophomore album following her first hit CD that shot up the charts while on tour this summer with George Strait. At this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards held here, Julianne was named Top New Female Vocalist.

Oompa Loompa Donnie Davis from Jeff Beacher's Madhouse is frisked.

*One of Jeff Beacher’s Oompa Loompas from Las Vegas, Donnie Davis, was detained while in Broward Mall in Florida promoting this weekend’s Beacher’s Madhouse shows at Seminole Coconut Creek. Donnie was with four other Oompa Loompas when mall security called for police backup because they did not have permission to promote on the premises. The quintet fled in different directions when cops arrived. Four vanished, but Donnie was apprehended. Hundreds of shoppers gathered and began screaming, “Let the Oompa Loompa go!” But Donnie was cuffed and taken to a nearby precinct, where Jeff bailed him out.

*Magician Penn Jillette’s producer wife Emily is the creator of the new improv Comedy Tarot Lounge starting next week at Town Square. Emily kindly invited me to be one of the first participants along with husband Penn, Luxor comedy headliner Carrot Top and author Neil Gaiman, but I’m out of town with family. Emily’s venture, which might wind up as a TV series, features tarot reading of a celebrity guest and then improv comedy from the revelations.

*Congratulations to Las Vegas native and New York Times bestselling author Vicki Petersson on her fourth paranormal novel City of Souls: the 4th Sign of the Zodiac. The struggle between Light vs. Shadow is played out behind the scenes right here in Sin City. Ten years ago, Vikki was a showgirl here who decided to trade in her sequins for a laptop. Scent of Shadows, Taste of Night and Touch of Twilight were bestsellers, and Vicki writes her novels at night nursing a martini and looking at the view of the Strip from her backyard for inspiration!

The One Giant Leap events will feature free nightly entertainment from California Dreaming, Venus Rising and Moro Rising, with a day-by-day screening of the moon landing.
