Soon after confirmation came that hip-hop producer Jermaine Dupri and Janet Jackson had ended their seven-year relationship, the record mogul turned up at Prive in Planet Hollywood. The Grammy Award-winning artist was all smiles and dressed to the nines in a crisp blue button-down shirt and Gucci loafers as he went inside the DJ booth for his guest-hosting appearance.

Jermaine played a blazing two-hour set of hip-hop, cutting the music at one point to apologize to the crowd for having to miss his original Fourth of July appearance “due to the passing of Michael Jackson.” He added: “This has been a very tough time for me. Michael will always be greatest.”

His stint behind the wheels of steel capped a nearly weeklong line-up of impressive music stars playing, performing and recording here in Las Vegas. Click HERE for yesterday’s photo galleries and coverage of Jet, LMFAO, Ron Browz, Pepper, Adelitas Way and The Fray.

Over at Pure in Caesars Palace, The B-52’s roared onto the stage for an early evening hourlong performance. It included many of their hit songs such as “Roam” and “Love Shack,” as well as audience favorite “Rock Lobster.” The band has just released a new album titled Funplex, their first release in more than 15 years. Cult favorite The Dan Band took the stage later the same night at sister nightclub LAX in the Luxor. It was the group’s first performance in Las Vegas since the release of the megahit movie The Hangover, in which they appeared. The packed crowd was ecstatic when the band performed their renditions of “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” featured in Old School, and “Candy Shop,” featured in The Hangover.
