Barbie celebrates her 50th birthday with a trip to Las Vegas and a suite at the Palms' Fantasy Tower.

She’s one of the world’s most well-known women, but I can reveal that she’s single and that her long romance that never led to marriage is over. So where better to set up house and home than in Las Vegas? It’s the perfect place for Barbie, who broke up on Valentine’s Day with Ken after being linked for 43 years! Barbie never wed, even though she modeled dozens of wedding outfits hoping for the magic moment.

Now on the high heels of her 50th birthday, Barbie has arrived at the Fantasy Tower in George Maloof’s Palms. She’s has her own three-bedroom, 2,500-sqare-foot pink palace. One of her closest gal pals told me: “This is her first trip ever to Las Vegas. She’s the perfect Vegas girl. Barbie is all about fun, so the Palms is perfect for that.”

It took Mattel executives and interior designer Jonathan Adler one month to get the suite that sleeps eight people comfortably designed and organized. They describe Barbie as the No. 1 fashion doll in the world and an ageless beauty. Barbie has 75 million results on Google, and more than 18 million worldwide users follow her on BarbieGirls.com.

Said her BFF: “She’s weathered the storms really well and looks more glamorous today than way back then. She has always been No. 1 for all 50 years. She and Ken dated on and off, but they are not together now. She’s totally single and having a good time.”

Since her arrival in 1959, more than 1 billion fashions have been produced for her and her friends using 105 million yards of fabric. In her first year, 300,000 Barbie Dolls were sold at $3 apiece, and one of those originals will fetch $27,450 at today’s selling price! For those curious enough to want her vital statistics, she stands 11.5 inches high and weighs just 7.25 ounces. Her bust is 5 inches, her waist is 3 inches, and her hips are 5 3/16 inches. Barbie says she’ll be at the Palms for one year of fun, and then might move back to Malibu if Ken woos her back. So for 12 months, we have to prove to the world’s most recognizable blonde that everything is better in Sin City!
